In my last post, I wrote about my recent inflammation in my thumb. Today, I started a conscious effort to include many more anti-inflammatory foods to my daily diet in order to combat some of this inflammation. Even if I find it provides no change in my thumb, at least I will be healthier in general!
I made this smoothie based on the foods I found online that could possibly provide some improvement in my inflammation and the ingredients I had available already in my kitchen. The smoothie was a nice brown color….not the most appealing, but it was tasty and nutritious.
“Inflammation No More” Smoothie (catchy name, right?)
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/2 cup frozen berries (I used a raspberry, blueberry, strawberry blend)
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 TBS chia seeds
- 5 drops of stevia (more or less to taste)
- 1/2 to 1 cup water (to make it to your preferred consistency)
Blend until smooth and enjoy. Makes one serving.
